Founded in 2016 by four passionate online gamers and content creators, Zqsd Productions revolves around the world of streaming, organizing gaming and e-sports events both for themselves and for brands looking to refresh their image. Zqsd Productions is behind some of the most notable gaming events, with their flagship event being ZEvent, a charity fundraiser broadcast live on Twitch. This annual event aims to support social or environmental causes.
“The latest edition, held from September 5 to 8, raised over €10 million, which was distributed to five organizations: Les Bureaux du Cœur, Solidarité Paysans, Le Secours Populaire, Chapitre 2 et Cop1,” notes Kelly Marini, a founding partner and Zqsd Productions’ head of communications.
Recently, Zqsd developed and orchestrated a concept for MSF (Doctors Without Borders), which Marini described as “more mainstream.” She explains: “MSF Quest was a live treasure hunt where five teams, made up of content creators and supported through fan donations, completed challenges inspired by real-life situations faced by MSF field workers.”
For the second edition of this event, broadcast on Twitch from September 27 to 29, 2024, lightweight transmission tools were essential for sending live images to the main stage and streaming platform, as well as facilitating real-time interaction with team participants.“At Zqsd, we’re always on the lookout for innovative and cost-effective solutions tailored to our production budgets. TVU Networks’ solutions were a perfect fit, especially since they offered a turnkey system that allowed us to delegate the technical management to Magic Hour’s expertise,” explains the associate director. “In the world of streaming and Twitch, we’re navigating a developing landscape without the big budgets of television. Solutions like these are critical to our operations,” she concludes.
The action then shifts to Zqsd’s headquarters in Montpellier, which houses around 800 square meters of studio space. “Equipped with specialized production tools, we installed two TVU VS3500 servers in Zqsd’s control room,” says Romain Matus, technical manager at Magic Hour. “Throughout the MSF Quest event, we monitored the live streams on-site.” The two servers handled the reception of five remote HD signals transmitted by each of the TVU One units. Communication between the game hosts on set and the participants was facilitated using the N-1 feed of each HD signal.
This collaboration highlights the power of innovation and adaptability in pushing the boundaries of live streaming and charity events in the gaming world.
