TVU Networks achieved a landmark milestone at the Paris Games 2024 as all major Japanese broadcasters, including NHK and members of the Japan Commercial Broadcasters Association (JBA), implemented its TVU Grid and TVU One solutions. This unprecedented adoption has established a new benchmark in international sports broadcasting, delivering both technological excellence and cost efficiency.

TVU Grid revolutionized traditional news gathering workflows through its innovative multicasting capability, enabling three simultaneous feeds with exceptional stability. Powered by TVU’s proprietary IS+ technology, the system effectively addressed two industry challenges: the substantial costs of conventional satellite transmission and the complexities of content sharing among multiple organizations. The solution’s advanced error correction, featuring TVU’s proprietary FEC technology, delivered transmission speeds with second-level latency while reducing technical staffing requirements and operational costs.

The Games deployment centered on TVU One units, which utilized the company’s patented Inverse StatMux Plus (IS+) technology to ensure reliable transmission under challenging network conditions. The system’s intelligent adaptation to network variations proved crucial during peak coverage, successfully delivering over 185 hours of content across 51 projects without technical interruption. Integration with Microsoft Teams enhanced communication between field teams and broadcast centers, streamlining operational workflows.

Yuma Nakajima, Technical Manager of JBA, commented: “TVU’s solutions have transformed our Olympic broadcasting capabilities. The system’s exceptional reliability during critical moments, combined with significant cost savings and operational efficiency, has set new standards for international sports coverage. We’ve demonstrated that cutting-edge technology can maintain broadcast quality while substantially reducing infrastructure costs.”

“This Paris deployment marks a paradigm shift in the Games broadcasting,” said Paul Shen, CEO of TVU Networks. “The unanimous adoption of TVU solutions by Japan’s broadcasters validates not only our technology’s reliability but also demonstrates how our solutions enhance broadcasting while delivering substantial cost savings. We’ve established a new model for major sporting event broadcasts.”
Looking ahead to the 2026 Milan Winter Games, TVU Networks will expand its collaboration with JBA through the integration of TVU MediaHub, furthering innovation in international sports broadcasting.
