During the lockdown on many states, for many of us, our personal lives have crossed over into our significant other’s professional lives. While social distancing, Rebekah Hoeger, news anchor at 11 News, needed to have a live newscast from our living room. She built a pop-up live studio into her own living room with virtually no budget. Below is a short video about how she was able to keep the news going even with no newsroom using TVU’s live broadcast app.

She gets up every morning before 4 am to get everything set up before the newcast goes live at 4:30 am. Since the editing of this video, the set up has gotten a bit more complex. A mic that could connect to a cell phone was ordered to eliminate the hollow audio. That created a need for a second cell phone to call in on the IFB line. It is a lot of technology to manage at one time.
