The One HDMI RVF feature

The TVU One model TM1100 supports a Return Video Feedback feature. This tip will walk users through setting up the RVF feature pack controls and server configuration.

 

What is the TM1100 Return Video Feedback (RVF) feature

The TM1100 supports a Return Video Feedback feature, enabling a TVU Pack user in the field to receive a live video stream as a confidence or monitoring feed. This on-board feature also supports viewing the Return Video Feedback using an iPhone and iPad.

 

Controlling the RVF from the touchscreen

The TM1100 Return Video Feedback feature can acquire live feeds from three sources: a Receiver, TVU Partyline, and TVU Producer. The method of starting the stream is similar for all source types.

To configure the Return Video Feedback from a Receiver, Producer, or Partyline session:

  1. Tap the Settings (Gear) icon on the bottom-right of the One LCD touchscreen.

RVF from a Receiver

To configure the Return Video Feedback feature from a Receiver:

  1. Tap Receiver.
  2. Select a Receiver from the Receiver list.
  3. Select a Pack or SDI RVF type.

Note: Two sources are available from most transceivers. The currently live pack feed on the receiver or the SDI input to the receiver.

  1. The TM1100 HDMI output will begin to display the video feed.

Note: The default output resolution of the HDMI is 720p. 1080p can be configured by TVU support upon request.

RVF from a TVU Producer session

To configure the Return Video Feedback feature from a TVU Producer session:

  1. Tap Producer.
  2. Select a Program from the list.
  3. Tap Start.

To configure the Return Video Feedback feature from a TVU Partyline session:

  1. Tap Partyline.
  2. The Partyline source displays.
  3. Tap Start.

Pack control from the advanced configuration Web interface

Users can join the pack network and access the Advanced configuration user interface by scanning the QR code in the Wi-Fi tab.

 

Connecting to the hotspot using the QR code method

To connect to the hotspot by using the QR code:

  1. Tap the gear icon to open the Settings screen.

  1. Tap the Wi-Fi tab.
  2. Use your smart device to scan the Hotspot QR code to join the pack network.

Note: Connection is automatic; no password is required when using this method.

  1. Once the connection is established, scan the Configuration page QR code to open the Web browser window (http://192.168.4.1).

  1. The One’s System Configuration panel opens.
  2. Tap the three-line Advanced icon to open the Advanced Configuration page.

  1. Select the type of source you wish to receive the RVF from; TVU Receiver, Producer, or Partyline.
  2. Select the specific feed that you wish to receive.

Note: From this interface, it is also possible to stream the RVF to an IOS device. This is not possible from the pack UI.

  1. Select where you want your Output to go and tap Start.
 

RVF configuration on the TVU transceiver

  1. Log in to the transceiver user interface.
  2. Click the Settings icon and select General.

  1. In the General pop-up window, scroll to the Video Feedback panel.
  2. Select a Resolution and Bitrate from the drop-down menu.

Note: Additional encoder bitrates and resolutions can be configured upon request by TVU Support.

  1. Click Apply to save your settings.
